The travel story Sibirien (‘Siberia’, Söderströms) by Ulla- Leena Lundberg has been published by Frederking & Thaler of Munich. The title is Sibirien: Selbstportrait mit Flügeln; the translator is Karl- Ludwig Wetzig. Taavi Soininvaara’s crime novel Ebola (Tammi), translated by Peter Uhlmann, has been published by Aufbau Taschenbuch of Berlin under the title Finnisches Blut.

Hungarian

The classic short stories Lapsia and Pikkuihmisiä (‘Children’ and ‘Small people’, Finnish Literature Society) by Teuvo Pakkala (1862–1925) have been translated by György Kadar and published by Kapu Könyvek of Budapest. The title is A fiús lány.

Japanese

Taikarumpu kertoo (‘The magic drum tells’, Weilin&Göös), a children’s story by Leena Laulajainen, has been published by Shumpusha Publishing of Yokohama; the translator is Kazuko Aramaki. Julia Vuori’s cartoon books for children about Pig and his friends, Sika ja tunteet and Sika ja värit (‘Pig and feelings’, ‘Pig and colours’, Otava), have been published by Bunkeido of Gifu.

Korean

Arto Paasilinna’s novels Hirtettyjen kettujen metsä and Paratiisisaaren vangit (‘The forest of the hanged foxes’, ‘Prisoners of paradise island’, WSOY) have been published by Sol Publishing and Nomad respectively, both of Seoul.

Latvian

Petri Tamminen’s novel Miehen ikävä (‘A man’s longing’, Otava) has been translated by Ingrida Peldekse and published by Apgads Daugava, Riga. The title is Virieša smeldze.

Norwegian

Märta Tikkanen’s novel Två. Scener ur ett konstnärsäktenskap (‘Two. Scenes from an artists’ marriage’, Söderströms of Helsingfors / Bokförlaget Forum of Stockholm) had been published by Gyldendal of Oslo; the title is To. Scener fra et kunstnereskap. The translator is Jo Ørjasæter.

Slovak

Isoisää etsimässä (‘Looking for grandad’, WSOY), a novel by Arto Paasilinna, has been published under the title Dedu za petami by MK Zaloba of Ljubljana. The translator is Jelka Ovaska.

Swedish

A collection of poems by Merja Virolainen, Olen tyttö, ihanaa (‘Wonderful, I’m a girl‘, Tammi) has been translated by Henrika Ringbom. The title is Jag är ett flickebarn, underbart. The publisher is Ersazt of Stockholm.
