    A book on gastronomy, Gastronomian historia by Jussi Talvi, has been published by Varrak of Tallinn, under the title Gastronoomia ajalugu. The translator is Piret Saluri.

Arto Paasilinna's novel Onnellinen mies ('A happy man', Gummerus) has been published under the title Un Homme heureux. The translator is Anne Colin du Terrail and the publisher is Denoël & D'ailleurs of Paris.

German
A play by Laura Ruohonen, Saari kaukana täältä ('An island far from here', Kirja kerrallaan) has been published by edition Smidt of Pullach. The title is Eine Insel, fern von hier and the translator is Angela Plöger.

Hebrew
The novel Laulu Sipirjan lapsista ('A song about the children of Siberia', Gummerus) by Timo K. Mukka, has been published by Carmel PH of Jerusalem. The translator is Rami Saari.

Icelandic
A book for children by Tove Appelgren, Djur ('Animals', Söderströms) has been published under the title Dyr. The translator is Halldór Baldursson; the publisher is EDDA of Reykjavik.
    EDDA has also published the Finlandia Literature Prize -winning novel by Kari Hotakainen, Juoksuhaudantie ('The Trench Road', WSOY), translated by Steinunn Gudmundsdóttir. The title is Skotgrafarvegur.

Japanese
A novel by Leena Krohn, Pereat mundus (Teos), has been translated by Hiroko Suenobu and published by Shinhyoron of Tokyo.

Lithuanian
A novel by Leena Lander, Tummien perhosten koti ('The home of the dark butterflies', Kirjayhtymä) has been translated by Aida Krilaviciene. The publisher is Pasvires pasaulis of Vilnius, the title is Juoduju drugeliu namai.
    A short story by Leena Lehtolainen, 'Tuliainen Vilnasta' ('A souvenir from Vilnius'), has been published in an anthology of thriller stories from the Nordic countries entitled Vilniaus alibi. The translator is Aida Krilaviciene, the publisher is Lietuvos rasytoju sujungos leidykla of Vilnius.

Polish
The latest crime novel by Matti Yrjänä Joensuu, Harjunpää ja pahan pappi ('Harjunpää and the priest of evil', Otava) has been published under the title Harjunpää i kaplan zla. The translator is Bozena Kojro and the publisher is Wydawnictwo Kojro of Warszaw.
    A selection of Finnish writing has been published in the 5/2005 issue of the literary anthology Czas Kultury, published in Poznán. The translators are Sebastian Musielak and Iwona Kosmowska. The writers included are Johanna Sinisalo, Juha Seppälä, Leena Krohn, Maarit Verronen, Martti Joenpolvi, Rosa Liksom and Petri Tamminen.

Russian
Two plays have been published by Kirja kerrallaan (Book on demand) of Helsinki: Kultainen vasikka ('The golden calf', 1918) by Maria Jotuni and Tunnottomuus ('Insensiblity', 2004) by Pirkko Saisio. The former has been translated by Taisia Dzafarova, the latter by Anna Sidorova.
    The novel Lang (Söderströms) by Kjell Westö has been translated by Maria Lyudkovskaya and published by Tekst of Moscow.

Sámi
A novel by Timo K. Mukka, Laulu Sipirjan lapsista ('A song about the children of Siberia', Gummerus), has been published under the title Sipirjá. It is translated by Sámás Jovnna-Ánde Vest and published by Davvi Girji of Karasjok (Norway).
    Davvi Girji has also published a book of poems by Märta Tikkanen, Århundradets kärlekssaga (The Love Story of the Century, Söderströms), translated by Rauni Magga Lukkari. The title is Cuohtelogu ráhkesvuodacuvccas.
    Memoirs from travels in Lapland from 1838 and 184142 by the philologist M.A. Castrén (18131852) have been published under the title Sámi mátkkit. The translator is Samuli Aikio and the publisher is Cálliid Lágádus of Karasjok.

Slovenian
Joulupukki (Father Christmas), a book for children written and illustrated by Mauri Kunnas, has been published by Mladinska knijga of Ljubljana. The translator is Jelka Ovaska and the title is Bozicek.

Ukrainian
Two books of prose by Johan Bargum, Sommarpojken ('Summer boy', Söderströms) and Avsked ('Farewell') have been published under the title Hloptsik na lito. Prostsanja. The translator is Natalya Ivanytchuk and the publisher is Litopis of Lviv.
