A thriller by Matti Yrjänä Joensuu, Harjunpää ja pahan pappi (Otava; see Books from Finland 3/2003) has been published by Arcadia Books of London. The title is The Priest of Evil, the translator is David Hackston.

Estonian
Two works of crime fiction by Leena Lehtolainen have been published: Kun luulit unohtaneesi ('When you thought you had forgotten', Tammi), by Eesti Keele Sihtasutus of Tallinn under the title Uskusid juba — on meelest läinud, and a collection of short stories, entitled Varastatud elu ('Stolen lives') The translator of the former book is Anne Kütt, the latter has been translated by Annus Raud and published by Odamees of Tallinn.
     Sotaromaani, an unedited earlier version (published in 2000) of the 1950s steadyselling war novel Tuntematon sotilas (The Unknown Soldier; WSOY) by Väinö Linna, has been translated by Endel Mallene and Meelik Mallene. The title is Sõjaromaan, and the publisher is Eesti Päevalehe Kirjastus of Tallinn.

French
Short stories by the classic Finland-Swedish author Runar Schildt have been published under the title Le retour; the translator is Maurice de Coppet and the publisher is L'Élan of Nantes.
     A comic book by Pentti Otsamo, The Fall of Homunculus, has been translated from the English-language original (Drawn & Quarterly, Canada) by Alan David. The title is Petites créatures, the publisher is editions çà et là of Bussy-Saintes-Georges.

German
A crime novel by Reijo Mäki, Pimeyden tango ('The tango of darkness'‚ Otava) has been translated by Bernd Lüecke and published under the title Tango Negro. Ein Jussi-Vares-Roman. The publisher is Typographische Werkstatt & Verlag Stegemann of Dülmen.
     A novel by Hannu Raittila, Atlantis (WSOY), has been translated by Stefan Moster. The title is Atlantis, the publisher is Albrecht Knaus of Munich.
     Moster has also translated a thriller by Ilkka Remes, Hiroshiman portti ('The gate of Hiroshima', WSOY). The title is Das Hiroshima-tor. The publisher is Deutscher Taschenbuch Verlag of Munich.
     A biographical novel by Paavo Rintala, Marian rakkaus ('Maria's love', Otava) has been published by Evangelische Verlagsanstalt of Leipzig. The title is Marias Liebe. Ein biographischer Roman; the translator is Peter Uhlmann.

A book on tango culture in Finland by the singer and songwriter M.A. Numminen has been published under the title Il tango è la mia passione. The original title is Tango on intohimoni (Schildts). The translator is Delfina Sessa and the publisher is Edizioni Socrates of Rome.
     Poems by several Finnish writers have been published in the poetry magazine Poesia. Mensile internazionale di cultura poetica (Anno XVII Dicembre, 2005, N. 200). The editors and translators are Viola Capková, Antonio Parente and Bruno Berni. The publisher is Crocetti Editore of Milan. Kurdish (Sorani)
The classic novel Seitsemän veljestä (The Seven Brothers, 1870) by Aleksis Kivi has been published in Finland by Kochar. The translator is Ali Khezri.

Latvian
The Finlandia Prize winning novel Juoksuhaudantie ('The Trench Road', WSOY) by Kari Hotakainen has been ublished by Dienas Gramata of Riga. The translator is Matiss Treimanis and the title is Ierakumu cels.
The classic story Tulitikkuja lainaamassa ('Borrowing matchsticks', 1910) by Maiju Lassila has been published under the title Pec serkociniem. The translator is Ingrida Peldekse and the publisher is Tapals of Riga.

Lithuanian
Two Moomin books by Tove Jansson, Farlig midsommar Moominsummer madness; Schildts) and Trollvinter (Moominland Midwinter) have been published under the title Troliai Mumiai. Baisus vidurvasaris. Stebuklinga ziema. The translator is Laima Bareisiene, the publisher is Garnelis of Vilnius.

The 1950s war novel Tuntematon sotilas (The Unknown Soldier) by Väinö Linna has been published under the title Paladyme saltak. The translator and publisher is Vasili Janalov of Joshkar-Ola.

Norwegian
The illustrated children's book Joulupukki (Father Christmas, Otava), by Mauri Kunnas and Tarja Kunnas has been published under the title Julenissen. A study concerning the work of the Finnish painter Albert Edelfelt (1854—1905), containing a collection of his letters about his travels in Spain has been published under the title Edelfelt: Cartas del Viaje por España (1881).
