As a publishing house, SKS has been awarded the State Award for Public Information and the title Publisher of the Year. Many of SKS's publications have been widely praised: the Society has been the recipient of the Finlandia Prize for Non-Fiction and has been nominated numerous times, the State Award for Public Information and Non-Fiction Book of the Year and many other prizes for works of non-fiction. In addition to this, the layout of SKS's books has also been praised in competitions both in Finland and abroad.
