The staff of the Library gives advice and guidance to customers on finding materials and using the electronic resources and databases. The Library provides customers with computers for online information searches and a copying machine. The Helsinki University's copy cards can be purchased from the circulation desk.
The Library's information service encompasses Finnish literature, literary studies, and cultural research in the fields of folkloristics, anthropology, religious studies, ethnomusicology and ethnology. Information searches are conducted using the Library's collections and databases. The information retrieval service can be applied either personally at the Library, by telephone (tel. +358-(0)201 131 272), or by filling in the electronic form. Assignments requiring less than an hour to process are free, more extensive searches are subject to a charge in accordance with the services price list of the Finnish Literature Society. The charged results must be collected from the Library and paid as collected, unless in special cases another method has been arranged.
