The Administration and Finance Department is responsible for overseeing the Society's work in general, planning work strategies, all matters of staffing and buildings, maintaining contact with the other governing bodies within the Society as well as important sister organisations both in Finland and abroad, and for both internal and external communications. The office is responsible for maintaining the IT systems and providing technical support for the development of the Society's information systems, web services and the digitalisation projects. The office takes care of research and development plans in close collaboration with the Society's individual departments.

The office is responsible for the Society's finances. It takes care of the Society's investments and maintains close contact with state officials and helps to plan funding for the Society's work.
