Internships at FILI

FILI and CIMO (Center for International Mobility) offer six-month internships in FILI’s offices. These internships are intended for students who are studying Finnish at universities abroad and are considering a career as a translator. People who are at least 18 years old and who are studying Finnish as their main or subsidiary (minor) subject at a university, college or professional institute or who have just graduated may apply for these intern positions, which are funded by CIMO’s ‘Finnish in Finland’ programme. Applicants may apply no later than one year after they graduate.

Each translation intern’s job description is shaped to some extent according to his/her own skills and the projects currently under way at FILI. The intern’s duties also include general office tasks. Interns can work on their own translation projects during their internships. Most of FILI’s previous translation interns now work as translators.

Applications for seminars for new translators as well as intern positions at FILI are handled via CIMO.
