Romani Cultural Heritage: Archiving, Valuation and Research (2016–2018)
The Cultural Heritage of the Roma people: Archiving, Valuation and Research project was carried out between 2016 and 2018 by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the National Advisory Board of Romani Affairs, the National Archives of Finland and SKS.
During the project, the cultural heritage of the Roma people in Finland was recorded from archives donated by private individuals and Romani associations. The material consists of interviews, manuscripts, printed products and photographs. The material has been archived as part of the collections of SKS and the National Archives of Finland.
The outcome of the project is the permanent collection of the Roma Archives of Finland – Finitiko kaalengo arkiivos.
Project publications covered the collection of Romani material and the history of Romani studies in Finland.
