I’m a doctoral student at the Academy of Fine Arts, Uniarts Helsinki, where I study spatiality in graphic novels and the postwar reconstruction era in Finland. In my work, I use extensively the reminiscence and visual collections of the SKS Archives. I have worked at the Research Department of the Finnish Literature Society since the beginning of 2025.
I have published several graphic novel books about themes that locate in the crossing of personal and common memory. My artworks have been on display in art galleries and museums in about 20 countries. The animated short films that I have directed have been screened on film festivals and art exhibitions all over the world. My specific interests as an artist are the spatiality of comics and, in addition to that, graphic novel exhibitions, drawing and archival research as part of my artistic work. One of my interests is the representation of history in comics.
