Acquisition of materials

Please contact us if you have materials or memories that you wish to preserve for future generations. Our goal is to preserve cultural heritage and offer it to researchers and other interested parties.

We accept materials related to the fields of tradition and literature.

Do you, your family, or the association you represent possess letters, manuscripts, photographs, or other unique materials relating to Finnish cultural heritage? Such materials may include preserved documents on a private individual’s life or descriptions of sayings, customs, or events in a region or community.

Please contact us before bringing in or sending materials!

Donated materials can be in text, image, audio, or video format. They can also be in analog or digital form. We will provide detailed instructions on how to donate various material types.

We will prepare a donation agreement in which the transfer of ownership of the materials to the SKS is agreed upon. If necessary, you can set restrictions on the use of the materials.

We will process personal data as required by data protection legislation.

In principle, copyrights will not be transferred to the SKS unless otherwise agreed upon, so please only donate materials that you have the right or permission to donate!
