Edith – Critical Editions of Finnish Literature
Edith – Critical Editions of Finnish Literature is a research unit of the Finnish Literary Society. The editorial work has focused on the collected works of Aleksis Kivi (1834–1872), but also a series of critical editions of the plays of Minna Canth (1844–1897) is in preparation. SKS publishes the editions as printed books and as digital open access publications. A list of Edith’s critical editions is available here (in Finnish). In addition to scholarly editing, we have played an important role in the promotion of scholarly editing and the advancement of textual scholarship in Finland and internationally. For example, the conference series on genetic criticism, GENESIS, grew out of a conference we co-organised. We have also been active in international networks in the field, such as the European Society of Textual Scholarship.
