The archives at SKS gather documentation on the written and oral cultural heritage of Finland.
The archives at SKS are open to everyone.
The Archives’ collections contain:
- material on literature and cultural history includes archives of authors and other literary figures from Aleksis Kivi to Riina Katajavuori and from the Torchbearers to the Finnish Writers’ Union; manuscript material, letters, documents, photographs and sound recordings
- material on traditional and contemporary folklore and ethnology; from Kalevala poetry to the life stories of rainbow youth – manuscripts, photographs, videos, and sound recordings
